Really good food. I love this place and my first time here was amazing 5 stars for that. It was my second visit here where I felt like I got treated like the minority I am. Came in with 4 other people and the staff were watching us like Hawks the whole time, as if we weren't going to pay for our food. It was really embarrassing and it made us all very uncomfortable. I really hoped they enjoyed their 0.87$ tip.
First time here, and it didn't disappoint. I saw this place was on the Michelin guide and I had to check it out. Everything we ordered was bomb!!! I can't say enough good things about this place. The waitress was friendly and attentive, the food came out in a timely manner and we didn't even have to wait to be seated. My favorite thing was the oxtail, it was my first time trying it and it was delicious. I highly recommend this place and it is now one of my favorites.
First time eating here and I can say everything was delicious! I ordered mostly off the pictures and was not disappointed!!!
Really tastie food, and very fast service..
Very good appetizers. The dishes are pretty good. Simple and savoury food.
Flavours are top notch, service incredibly efficient. Cash only, so bring some dollars! But all affordable. I've missed this food, and it really hits the spot!
I don’t even know where to begin. Maybe the exit door of this restaurant. 🙄 My husband and I love trying new places to eat and gave this place a shot for the first time. But it was not the business. The soup looked so good but wasn’t as good as it looked. Too sweet for a soup flavor. I had to order another dish since I wasn’t going to eat the soup. I ordered a rice dish but I still wasn’t satisfied. The pork pieces were to fried and had no actual meat inside. At the end of our experience here, my husband ordered me a dessert drink to give them the benefit of doubt ugh!! still wasn’t satisfied. So disappointed. $50 on a dinner we didn’t even enjoyed. Good luck with your experience here. But do have to say our waiter was very attentive. Thank you for that.
This place offers first-rate service as well as yummy meals. The best restaurant around here. The meals served fast and the prices are affordable. Highly recommended.
Great Indonesia / Singapore and Malay food. Fast and friendly service. Now the restaurant seating space are bigger (opened new space next door / connected)
Clean restroom, good food !Service was not rude, but was a bit non attentive. Price was okay~We got a curry soup, and another soup (forgot what it was called). The flavor was delicious, and I personally enjoyed the amount of meat they put in it.
Delicious food and quick service. Never had a Laksa before so I can only judge it based on taste. The broth is sweet, savory, with a hint of sour. Extremely delicious. The chicken satay is good but overpowered by the peanuts sauce. Worth a try but I feel like it should be accompanied with a little bit of rice to tone it down. My complaint and suggestion to the owner; don’t use store bought fried shallot. It is easy to make in house and for Michelin restaurant it is unacceptable.
From the outside I was a little hesitant but inside it is super clean and well appointed. The food is excellent. Servers are overworked but do their best to be efficient.
One of my favorite places in the neighborhood. There are lots of good things to order but let's be honest, you came for the laksa with the house made rice noodles like I always do.
Trying this place out the first time with my bff. We normally go to Indonesian Food Court at West Covina.. but today we didn't feel like driving that far 😂Very satisfied & happy we made the choice to come here instead!Super happy with the food we ordered:- Nasi Campur Kalimantan (rice with assorted topping such as red bbq pork, eggs, chicken)- Bakmi Karet Hakka (Hakka style big egg noodles with mushrooms, bbq pork, eggs, chicken & veggie)- Rojak Kalimantan ( Kalimantan fruit salad with peanut sauce). All those only for $33 bucks and change! We were both agreed that the foods were delicious & tasted authentic! Especially the Rojak Kalimantan! It is to die for!Definitely will go back again for the Rojak & try other stuffs from the menu.Would recommend this place to other foodies or people who would like to just try Indonesian / Borneo Island's Cuisine!Selamat Makan! Bon Apetit! 👍👍👍👍
Excellent, authentic food, for reasonable prices. Highly recommend - fair warning, their spicy food is genuinely well-seasoned so if you dislike hot dishes, choose only from their mild menus.
First time trying this place. I've driven by many times and always wanted to stop in. Now I wish I had stopped sooner. The food has a lot of flavor! From the very tasty Sate, to the Oxtail Soup. All were amazing. I especially enjoyed one of the rice dishes' side of sweet potatoes. It was sweet and spicy. It really blew my mind! The fried chicken on the noodles was a little tough, but I still enjoyed the chicken and the noodles! I also need to call out the Roti as a must try. This is due to the very flavorful curry dipping sauce.Overall, this little place is on the must return list.
Flavorful variety of Indonesian fare. Service was decent. Slightly pricey for what it is, but good enough to come back and try some more time to time
Borneo Kalimatan Cuisine located in the historical and popular City of Alhambra,California, features authentic and delicious Malaysian,Indonesian,Singaporean and Chinese dishes that are very fresh, authentic and delicious! The Hookien style noodles and curry oxtail soup are super as is the gado-gado,roti,nasi campur the rice dishes and milk tea drinks. All of their delicious dishes can be made mild to numbing hot! We went with 5 friends. We ordered from both thai and Malaysian menus. Very big portions and food was pretty good. We went around 11 AM and it wasn't busy.. service was good as well.
Perfect comfort style food that hits the spot. Had the laksa mee homemade curry. The broth is exceptionally rich with a kick of spice and the noodles were not too filling. The addition of corn made the broth delicious to sip then chew on. Also tried the chicken satay which was baked in a soy sauce based sweet mariande filled with crunchy garlic bits. Lastly, ordered a roti which was thin enough to tear but thick enough to soak the roti in the dipping curry sauce it came with. Same base as the laksa.
Not everyday you walk in to a small restaurant and find it to be a Michelin Star! The restaurant is small. From outside, you can't even guess anything. Then you try one bite, and you'll know that won't be the first time you'll eat there. Food is that good! Service is good and unbelievably good!
Authentic and delicious Indonesian food for a fair price. I wish there was more Indonesian cuisine in Los Angeles, but I am grateful for Borneo Kalimantan cuisine. It is a must try! 🇮🇩
Honestly, the taste is the best Indonesian food I've ever had in the U.S. Very authentic and eating each bite reminded me of home. Inside the restaurant is very cozy and homie, I really felt at home. From the decoration to plates, I liked everything about it. Nice vibe.
If you love Indonesia noodle, you will definitely love Borneo Kalimantan noodle, they do have very authentic homemade indo egg noodle, truly amazing. My wife, son and I have been eating here ever since they first open years ago. However, with the recent price hike, I will be thinking twice in going to eat or buying to go. Even with the price increases, the portion remain the same.
I haven't really tried Singaporean food but I just happened to stumple across this and like holy s*it this place is amazing. The bread, fried rice and chicken satay are amazing beyond belief. It is the holy grail. And look at my profile... I don't give 5 stars lightly unlike many people on Yelp.
The place is kind of small, food is really good but on the heavy side. Price is reasonable. Will definitely go back and try other items on the menu.
The place serves big dishes and for affordable prices. friendly owner. Kudos.
Delicious food! I ordered our lunch for a special occasion today and am going back for more!!
Very well organised and welcoming place. They offer generous portions and for reasonable prices. We enjoyed the menu a lot and the waiters were very amiable and chatty. I recommend this place.
